# Battery and Drivetrain Warranty (UK Only)

| > The warranty coverage of your battery and drivetrain is 3 years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first. With the option to purchase an extended warranty for an extra 2 years or 13,000 miles. ### **What does the battery and drivetrain warranty cover?** > The battery and drivetrain warranty covers the battery, integrated battery management system, the hub motor and the internal wiring, and internal structures. ### **What should I expect of my battery performance over time?** > Maeving will only repair or replace in accordance with this warranty a battery that exhibits a nominal storage capacity reduction of greater than 20% of the published nominal capacity, as measured by an Maeving or an authorized Maeving Technician. ### **How do I keep my battery and drive train warranty valid?** > This warranty only covers Maeving motorbikes that are operated according to “proper use” and “under normal operating conditions.” > The following actions in addition to the vehicle warranty are required: - Maintaining the service schedule as detailed in the servicing section and the owner's handbook. - Only using Maeving-approved parts and technicians, this includes chargers and cables. - Never store and/or leave the battery at a state of charge below 30% for more than 30 days. - Charging the battery above 0°C (ideally at room temperature). The battery should not be used in temperatures that are colder than -20°C or hotter than 60°C. ### **How do I get the best out of my battery?** > Once fully charged, disconnect from the AC power source. Leaving your motorbike unplugged between charges will maximize the long-term health of the battery. > While unplugged with the key in the OFF position, the motorbike's electronics will consume a very small amount of power and a fully charged battery will drain at an extremely slow rate. ### **How do I store my battery when I’m not using it for extended periods?** > Whenever you plan on not riding or storing your motorbike for extended periods of time (more than 30 days), it is recommended that you charge the battery to approximately 60% state of charge (SoC). > The battery will discharge extremely slowly over time. Check the SoC at least monthly and charge it back up to 60% if it has dropped below 30%. > To prolong the life of your battery you should store your motorbike in a cool area. Storing your motorbike in a hot area will cause your battery life to be shortened. > The recommended storage temperature is 20°C to 35°C.  When taking a battery out of storage charge the battery for at least 24 hours to ensure optimal cell balance is restored. |

Please note there is a normal, expected battery capacity/range reduction over time.

CAUTION: Failure to follow the charging guidelines could damage the battery and void your warranty
