A second passenger increases the weight on the bike significantly and therefore greatly reduces its range. When designing the Maeving RM1 and RM1S models, we wanted to deliver the best possible range and speed while using a removable battery.
With battery technology being where it is at present, achieving this means excluding riding with a second passenger: to make a pillion seat practical, you’d need a bigger battery to achieve the current range figures our two models produce today.
As battery technology improves, however, we’re looking forward to increasing our product range and adding a pillion seat is something we are working on.
Note: a reminder that if you hold just a CBT license, you’re not permitted to ride with a second passenger anyway.
