What should I do if I store my Maeving RM2 for extended periods of time?

If you plan to store your Maeving RM2 for an extended period, it is important to look after both the main batteries and the 12V battery. When the main batteries are fitted in the bike, the RM2 is designed to trickle charge the 12V battery. To support the long‑term health of the 12V system, we recommend placing the main batteries into the bike roughly once a week for a few hours so that the 12V battery can maintain a healthy state of charge.

However, the main battery's health is also affected by temperature. Storing the bike with the batteries fitted for long periods in cold conditions is not recommended. For optimal battery longevity, store the main batteries separately at around room temperature whenever possible.

If you expect to store your Maeving RM2 in a location where the temperature will not be ideal, the best approach is to remove the main batteries, keep them at room temperature, and maintain the bike’s 12V system with a suitable 12V trickle charger. This routine helps preserve overall battery health when the bike is not in regular use.

The Maeving RM2 does not come with a 12V trickle charging lead fitted as standard, because the main batteries can normally look after the 12V battery. If your storage conditions mean you need to use a 12V trickle charger, please contact our support team by clicking here to arrange for a trickle charging lead to be fitted to your RM2.
