What is the range of the RM1S?

The Maeving RM1S can travel up to 80 miles on a single charge, but the actual range may vary depending on factors such as your average speed, riding conditions, and riding style, rider weight and riding style (aggressive acceleration vs. tempered acceleration).

If you mainly ride in the city, you can expect to achieve the highest range figures. However, if you frequently ride at high speeds or tackle hilly terrains, the batteries may drain faster.

How do we verify these figures?

The range of the Maeving RM1S is verified by the WMTC (World Motorcycle Test Cycle). The WMTC is a European standard that measures the range of a vehicle based on a variety of testing scenarios. It is the industry/homologation standard for motorcycles and covers a range of speed, accelerations and gradients to give a real world representative and comparable (even with Internal Combustion vehicles) energy consumption figure. The test consists of 3 phases in equal measure covering: urban, rural and motorway and it what Maeving uses to determine the range of our electric bikes.

Both the Maeving RM1 and RM1S have been designed for urban travel. If you ride the RM1S within slow-moving city traffic, you will be able to travel up to 80 miles. However, if you need to travel at the top speed for a part of your journey then the range you can achieve will be lower than the WMTC stated figure. The rider weight for the tests we carried out were between 75 kg to 110 kg.

Note: 75% of commuters in the UK travel less than 10 miles to get to work. You can read more about this via this link.
