What is Maeving’s battery recycling policy?

Battery_RM1_Square_TopAs a business that places batteries on the UK market, Maeving is obliged to take responsibility for the waste management of end-of-life (EoL) batteries. EoL batteries are considered toxic waste and are forbidden to dispose of them via landfill or incineration. So when your battery has reached a state of health (SoH) that renders it unusable for your driving needs, Maeving will manage the safe disposal or reuse of your battery through an Approved Battery Treatment Operator (ABTO).
This ABTO will then ensure that the battery is recycled so that, amongst other materials, the rare and valuable minerals in your battery (such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel) are reused and do not end up in a landfill. Maeving strives to go above and beyond recycling by assessing the SoH of returned batteries to determine whether a second-use application (repurposing the batteries) may be possible. By reusing before recycling, we and our customers can set a progressive example for battery waste management.
