How do I maintain the health of the Maeving motorbike’s 12V battery?

The 12V battery in the Maeving motorbike will slowly discharge over time if the bike is not in use, and it’s important to avoid running it flat. The 12V battery charges off the removable battery, but the bike needs to be switched on for this to take place. Therefore, during periods of storage or non-use longer than 4 weeks, you’ll either need to:
  • Remove the 12V battery from the bike; or
  • Store a charged main battery inside the lower battery compartment which will trickle charge the 12v.
  • If you would prefer to not store a battery inside the bike, switch the bike on every 3 to 4 weeks (with one or two removable batteries installed) and allow at least an hour for the 12V battery to charge.

If you’re not able to do either of these things during the period of storage or non-use, we recommend purchasing an optimate trickle charger, available on our website. This will slowly and consistently charge the 12V battery to make sure it doesn’t run flat or overcharge.
