If you find your main controller housing is marked or has any road grime attached. Please find below the guide on removing this to keep your bike in peak condition.
- Ensure bike and housing have been cleaned using a ph-neutral automotive cleaning product and dried thoroughly.
- Using appropriate PPE, use a small, stiff bristled brush to scrub the surfaces with an aluminum cleaner that is phosphoric acid based (such as Safechem Bright).
- Do not let the cleaner dry or leave it on other aluminum surfaces or it will cause staining.
- Rinse with copious quantities of water.
- Repeat steps 2-4 as required.
For the brushed items, it is a different process. Clean the bike, then use a metal polish (such as Autosol) to polish off any pitting. Wipe off excess polish with a microfibre cloth and then use a Scotchbrite pad to brush the surface again ensuring the brushing is in the same direction as the existing brushing.
