Cleaning guide - Controller housing

If you find your main controller housing is marked or has any road grime attached. Please find below the guide on removing this to keep your bike in peak condition.

  • Ensure bike and housing have been cleaned using a ph-neutral automotive cleaning product and dried thoroughly.
  • Using appropriate PPE, use a small, stiff bristled brush to scrub the surfaces with an aluminum cleaner that is phosphoric acid based (such as Safechem Bright).
  • Do not let the cleaner dry or leave it on other aluminum surfaces or it will cause staining.
  • Rinse with copious quantities of water.
  • Repeat steps 2-4 as required.

For the brushed items, it is a different process. Clean the bike, then use a metal polish (such as Autosol) to polish off any pitting. Wipe off excess polish with a microfibre cloth and then use a Scotchbrite pad to brush the surface again ensuring the brushing is in the same direction as the existing brushing.
