Is the RM1 really a British motorcycle?Updated 3 months ago
According to the UK’s Trading Standards Act of 1968, a product is deemed to be British if the manufacturing, treatment, or processes leading to its final end use are performed in the UK. Maeving’s design, engineering, testing, assembly, and quality control processes are all executed in Coventry. Therefore, according to legislation, the RM1 really is a British motorcycle.
In addition to this, Maeving sources 65% of parts from UK businesses. For some components, it just wouldn’t make sense to source locally. For the drivetrain, if we were to use anyone other than Bosch, we’d be compromising on quality. For the battery cells, if we were to use anyone other than Samsung or LG, we’d be compromising on range.
